More On Negative Spaces

Negative spaces is a concept I've been carrying forward while sketching and designing.  Rather than spending the time piecing fabrics together, I can use that effort stitching on one whole piece to make geometric designs.  "Breaking up" is also a concept that keeps returning while brainstorming.  I like what happens when you draw a simple pattern but then take it to the next level by breaking it apart and creating a completely different effect.  A great example of that is seen here in the Crosspath Quilted Pillow.

I used the same concept while designing the Lex Wall Hanging.  Breaking up a simple line drawing created this sort of disconnected chevron effect.

Here's a close up of what gives the illusion of shapes from far away in the Pyramid Stitched Pillow.
